These rich shakes are an easy way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables to food for both adults and minors. Depending on the ingredients you choose, you may be rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants and fiber. And best of all, you can make it your own, with fresh local fruits and vegetables. Try them for breakfast or snacks, or anytime you need to energize healthy.

For all the following recipes, combine all ingredients in a blender. Processes two or three minutes until the topping is completely uniform. Serve immediately. For a special touch, you can decorate your glass with pieces of fresh fruit or a sprig of mint.

Tropical Breeze (Makes about 3 cups)

Make the most healthy abundance of local ingredients with this tasty and nutritious whipped full of antioxidants. Pineapple is rich in beneficial enzymes, and the mango is high in beta-carotene.

1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 cup frozen banana chunks
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1/2 to 1 cup rice milk or fortified soy milk or coconut water
Blend.

Banana mousse and oatmeal (Makes about 3 cups)

This creamy whipped love to children, and contains 5 grams of protein per cup.

2 medium bananas, frozen in chunks
2 cups soy or rice milk fortified vanilla
1/2 cup quick oats (quick oats)
2 tbsp. agave or maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Blend.
Nice meal!
